ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s government has approved an increase in the prices of petroleum products for the upcoming week, raising the cost of petrol and high-speed diesel by Rs26.77 per litre each.
According to an official notification issued on Friday by the Ministry of Petroleum, the new price of petrol has been set at Rs 393.35 per litre, while high-speed diesel will now be sold at Rs 380.19 per litre. The revised rates will come into effect from midnight tonight, April 25, 2026 (Saturday).

The notification further confirmed that the price adjustment applies to both major fuel categories, reflecting changes in global oil prices and exchange rate fluctuations over the past week.
The latest increase follows a period of relative stability in domestic fuel prices. Just one week earlier, on April 17, 2026, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had approved a substantial reduction in diesel prices, providing much-needed relief to consumers amid signs of stabilisation in international oil markets.
At that time, the Prime Minister approved a decrease of Rs32.12 per litre in the price of high-speed diesel, bringing it down from Rs385.54 to Rs353.43 per litre.
The Ministry of Petroleum has formally circulated the price revision notification to all oil marketing companies and dealers across the country. The new rates are applicable effective 12:00 midnight on April 25 and will remain in force for the duration of the upcoming week.
Authorities have advised all fuel retailers to display the revised prices prominently at their outlets and ensure compliance with the official notification.
