Over 446 Hobby Clubs Set Up in Saudi Arabia to Bring People Together

RIYADH: A rapid increase in the number of hobby clubs is helping to bring people together and broaden their interests and opportunities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Arab media reported on Sunday.

As per media reports, more than 446 hobby clubs have been set up in fifty provinces and cities countrywide since the launch of the Hawi initiative.

From fashion, pottery making and collecting valuable items to artisanry, reading, and public speaking and the platform also offers hobby clubs for citizens to develop their interests and interact with like-minded people.

In recent days, activities and events have been organized by Hawi in cooperation with amateur clubs, to attract people from all walk of life in the Kingdom.

The event and activities are linked with the Quality of Life Program Center, which aims to register over 6,000 amateur clubs in Saudi Arabia by 2030.

Khalid Albaker, the centre’s Chief Executive Office, said: “These activities play a significant role in effective communication between amateur clubs and the Hawi portal, as they contribute to creating and promoting a fun, engaging, and sound atmosphere where citizens can practice their hobbies.
