OIC Secretary-General Congratulates Saudi Arabia on Winning Expo 2030 Bid

JEDDAH: Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Hussein Ibrahim Taha has congratulated Saudi Arabia’s leadership and people on winning bid to host the World Expo 2030 in Riyadh, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.

He said that the development shows Saudi Arabia’s leading status in the global community and is a recognition of Riyadh’s ability to host prestigious international events.

He also noted that winning the bid to host such a big event was the result of intense and relentless efforts of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

He wished further success and prosperity for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, saying that selecting Riyadh to host the World Expo is a victory not only for the Kingdom but also for the entire Muslim world.

Meanwhile, Arab Parliament Speaker Adel Al-Asoomi also congratulated Saudi Arabia for winning its bid to host Expo 2030 in Riyadh.

According to the SPA, Al-Asoomi said that the achievement reflects the progress of Saudi Arabia made under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The Arab Parliament in a statement termed the hosting of Expo 2030 by the Kingdom as a significant Arab achievement that enhances Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading global destination in the fields of trade, culture, and development.

Al-Asoomi expressed his confidence in Saudi Arabia’s ability to successfully and competently organize this important international event.

He also extended his wishes for further progress and prosperity for Saudi Arabia and its people.
