More than 600 Incidents of Violence against Christians Reported in India

NEW DELHI:  More than 600 incidents of violence against Christians were reported during the last year in India, local and western media reported on Sunday. As per media reports, Christian institutions are being attacked by extremist RSS, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Bajrang Dal, and many other militant organizations in different parts of India.

A local Hindutva group in Assam, India threatened Christian schools in the region to remove all Christian symbols within 15 days. Similarly, in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, Hindu extremists and militants also warned school managements to install Saraswati idol at their institutions gates.

Challenging the religious freedom of Christians, the Modi extremist government took various measures to tease the minorities in India.

The BJP siphoned off a lot of money for churches from global religious donors and Christian leaders began to be attacked by the extremist Indian government.

In this connection, the Indian Conference of Catholic Bishops also wrote a letter to highlight the challenges, issues and miseries faced by Christians in India due to the unjust policies of the extremist Indian government.
