MAKKAH: Saudi Arabia’s Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites has announced that the Miqat sites in the Kingdom are fully prepared to receive pilgrims for the upcoming Hajj season.

It added that preparations are part of an integrated operational plan designed to enhance service efficiency and improve the pilgrims’ experience, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.

Miqat sites are the designated spots or boundaries in Islamic law from which pilgrims must enter the state of Ihram before performing Hajj or Umrah.

According to the commission, the Miqat prayer areas can accommodate more than 6,600 men and around 3,200 women.

In addition, thousands of parking spaces and hundreds of restrooms have been prepared to high operational standards to facilitate pilgrims and ensure smooth movement across the sites.

Further arrangements include upgraded directional signage for better guidance, seasonal kiosks at key locations, increased staffing, and strengthened community partnerships for water supply services.

These measures reflect ongoing efforts to provide comprehensive, high-quality services that allow pilgrims to perform their rituals with greater ease and comfort.

As one of the central pillars of Islam, Hajj holds profound significance for Muslims worldwide, making proper knowledge of its rituals especially important.

This year’s Hajj is expected to take place between May 25 and May 30, subject to the sighting of the moon, which determines the start of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah.
