JEDDAH: Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, the deputy governor of Makkah province has received around 400 pilgrims arriving at the Jeddah international airport from the city of Surabaya, Indonesia, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Saturday.
The pilgrims were among those who arrived through the “Makkah Route,” an initiative launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s government six years ago to facilitate travel procedures for those performing Hajj in the Kingdom.
According to the SPA, Prince Saud has presented gifts to the arriving pilgrims as he conducted an inspection on the progress of work at the Hajj and Umrah lounge complex of the King Abdulaziz International Airport.
Prince Saud was accompanied by the director general of passports, Lt. Gen. Sulaiman Al-Yahya; the president of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Abdulaziz Al-Duailej; Hajj and Umrah Deputy Minister Abdel Fattah Mashat; Jeddah airport board chairman Raed Al-Mudahim, and other officials.
