ABU DHABI: Jordan and the UAE have intensified their efforts to deliver humanitarian assistance to Gaza during the holy month of Ramadan.
The UAE on Sunday said that it had conducted its 13th airdrop over unreachable areas in the northern Gaza Strip containing 24 tonnes of relief supplies and food, the state media reported.
In addition, the third Emirati assistance ship has started its journey for the Egyptian city of Al-Arish, carrying 4,630 tonnes of humanitarian aid for Gaza.
The Jordanian army on Sunday also initiated six humanitarian and food aid airdrops in the north of Gaza Strip, the Jordan News Agency reported. The operation was conducted by the Royal Jordanian Air Force and aircrafts from Egypt, the US, Germany, and Singapore.
The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization and the army have also sent a humanitarian assistance convoy of 25 trucks to Gaza.
The Jordanian army has reaffirmed its commitment to continuing support efforts from Marka Airport in Amman to El Arish International Airport in Egypt to facilitate both airdrops over Gaza and the organization of ground aid convoys.
Since October 7, Israel’s air and ground offensive into Gaza has resulted in the killing of at least 32,226 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and 74,518 injuries, with 84 casualties reported in the past 24 hours alone, according to Gaza’s health ministry.
