TEL AVIV: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is facing a severe criticism inside the country for evil political point scoring amid war in Gaza, Western media reported on Wednesday.

According to the Gaza health ministry, at least 18,608 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli bombardment since October 7, mostly women and children.

Experts believe that after the war, Netanyahu’s would try to shore up his falling popularity among voters. Many of the Israeli voters blame Netanyahu for catastrophic intelligence failures in Gaza.

Netanyahu has admitted before Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that Hamas attacks have killed a number of Israelis.

A senior Likud official told the Israeli media that half-a-million troops are inside Gaza and thousands of others are worried about the fate of captives.

Another Likud official accused Netanyahu of dividing the Israeli societies during the time of war and making negative statements against opposition.

Biden demands Netanyahu to change his approach on Gaza conflict

Earlier, US President Joe Biden had asked Netanyahu to change his approach on Gaza conflict.

Opposition leader Yair Lapid said Netanyahu is running an evil political campaign with an aim to remove responsibility from him and to blame others.

One expert, Dahlia Schiendlin said 70 to 75 percent of Israelis want Netanyahu to resign.

The Israeli raids have almost destroyed entire neighborhoods in northern Gaza. Israeli ground troops have been facing heavy resistance from Hamas fighters in the area.

According to the UN some 1.87 million Palestinians, over 80 percent of Gaza’s population, have left their homes.
