GAZA: An Israeli air strike has killed at least 23 Palestinians and inured 55 others in Rafah in southern Gaza, Palestinian Health Ministry spokesperson Ashraf al Qudra said on Thursday.
He added the Israel’s brutal war in besieged Gaza entered in its 83rd day and has left at least 21,320 Palestinians killed including 8,800 children and 6,300 women, and wounded 55,603.
He said Israeli violations against the health system have led to the killing of 312 health personnel, including some with specializations.
The spokesperson in the statement further said the Israeli occupation deliberately destroyed 104 ambulances, taking them out of service. He noted 142 health institutions, including 23 hospitals and 53 health centers have gone out of service.
He called upon the international organizations to intervene to prevent a health and humanitarian disaster in war-hit Gaza. He said shelters, drinking water, food, and healthcare, especially for vulnerable groups must be immediately provided in the besieged enclave.
The UN has said that some 1.87 million Palestinians, over 80 percent of Gaza’s population, have left their homes because of the Israeli bombardment of the besieged enclave.
Earlier, Qatar helped broker weeklong cease-fire of the Gaza war in November. During the pause in fighting 110 Israeli captives and 240 Palestinian prisoners were freed.
The Israeli raids have almost destroyed entire neighborhoods in northern Gaza. Israeli ground troops have been facing heavy resistance from Hamas fighters in the area.
Since the start of 2023, a total of 1,094 structures have been demolished in the occupied West Bank, leading to the displacement of at least 2,127 Palestinians.
