MUSCAT: Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces Vice Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis Al Raisi has met Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) Secretary-General Major General Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, with both sides agreeing to strengthen cooperation in counter-terrorism and maritime security.
They reviewed areas of cooperation and ways to strengthen the partnership between the IMCTC and the Sultanate of Oman, particularly in countering terrorism, building capacities, and exchanging expertise, in support of regional and international efforts to address extremist threats and promote security, stability, and peace, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.

Al-Moghedi briefed the Omani side on the IMCTC’s key activities, initiatives and programmes across its four main areas of focus — intellectual, media, counter-terrorist financing and military — as well as its efforts to support member states and strengthen their institutional and human capabilities.
He also highlighted the role and objectives of the IMCTC Initiatives Fund, which supports strategic priorities identified by member states through specialised programmes and sustainable counter-terrorism projects.
The Secretary-General and his delegation also visited Oman’s Maritime Security Centre, where they were briefed on its mandate and operational responsibilities, including mechanisms for monitoring and coordinating maritime activities.
The visit also covered the centre’s role in enhancing maritime security and safety and addressing potential risks and threats at sea.
