ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Muhammad Khan said on Saturday that the party’s founder chairman, Imran Khan, had instructed to hold intra-party elections immediately.
Addressing a press conference alongside other party leaders in Islamabad, Ali Muhammad Khan said, “Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has informed me that he will oversee the arrangements for the intra-party elections.”
He added, “The PTI founder has informed them that they will abstain from engaging in political vendettas if government forms. He has advocated for following the example of Nelson Mandela’s commission.”
Khan reiterated, “The PTI remains committed to advocating for the women who are currently incarcerated.”
Earlier in the day, a meeting of the PTI’s parliamentary party convened, where the ramifications of the Rawalpindi commissioner’s resignation were deliberated upon. The party also discussed its ongoing communication with other political factions.
The media reports say that the PTI has decided to intensify its dialogue with other political entities.
