The governor has also called for recruitment against vacant police posts to reduce the workload on serving personnel and ensure adequate staffing for public security duties.
The proposed measures form part of wider efforts to improve police welfare and recognise the sacrifices made by personnel serving in the province.
Law and order
Kundi said maintaining law and order in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been his priority from the outset and that police personnel continued to stand on the front line of efforts to protect the public.
He thanked the provincial inspector general of police and his team, the chief secretary and other relevant officials for their cooperation in developing the relief package.
“Our martyrs’ sacrifices are a debt we owe, and looking after their families is our responsibility,” the governor said.
He reiterated that the welfare of police personnel and the families of those who had sacrificed their lives for the province remained a responsibility that required sustained attention.
The package is intended to strengthen support for police personnel and their families while recognising the risks faced by officers working to maintain peace and security in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
