TAROUBA, Trinidad: The first Test between Pakistan and West Indies remains delicately poised at tea on day three at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, with the home side holding a slender 29-run lead after a session that saw momentum swing dramatically both ways.
West Indies were bowled out for 311 in their first innings on day two, with Shai Hope top-scoring with 92 and Kavem Hodge contributing a patient 84.

Mohammad Ali was the pick of Pakistan’s bowlers, claiming four wickets, while Mohammad Abbas chipped in with three.

Masood’s century anchors Pakistan response
Pakistan began their reply with intent, but the innings has been a story of one man’s brilliance and a dramatic collapse. Shan Masood, playing his first Test since being replaced as captain, anchored the innings with a magnificent 109 off 184 deliveries, studded with 12 boundaries.

He found solid support from Imam-ul-Haq, who made 63, and the pair shared a crucial partnership that put Pakistan in a strong position.
However, West Indies fought back through right-arm pacer Justin Greaves, who produced a game-changing spell to claim four wickets. Greaves removed the dangerous Masood and then struck thrice more to reduce Pakistan from a position of strength to 267/8 to 282 all out.
