ISLAMABAD: A purported 1980–81 school report card circulating online as an academic record of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is fabricated, with several inconsistencies, including age and conflicting names, according to a review of the document and available biographical information.
The image, shared online by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) social media team, is presented as a school report card from “Selector Science School, Lahore, Pakistan” for the 1980–81 academic year.
It identifies the student as “Shehbaz Sharif”, gives his date of birth as 23 September 1951 and lists him as a Year 10-B student.
But the purported report card was an AI-generated image.
A social media user also highlighted a discrepancy and questioned the authenticity of the image. The PTI social media cell shared an AI-generated image of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, but made a mistake in the image by writing “Shehbaz Sharif” at the top while referring to “Nawaz” in the text below, it said.

“For one, they are not educated; secondly, they do not even make an effort, the post says.
Why is it false?
The document’s dates provide a clear indication that it is not an authentic school record of Shehbaz Sharif.
Born on 23 September 1951, Shehbaz Sharif would have been 29 years old during the 1980–81 academic session.
The claim that he was enrolled in Year 10 during that period is therefore inconsistent with his age and known educational history.
His official biography states that he graduated from Government College, Lahore, with distinction. Biographical accounts also record that he attended St Anthony’s High School in Lahore before graduating from Government College University, Lahore.
The document contains another apparent inconsistency: although the student’s name is given as Shehbaz Sharif, the handwritten Urdu note at the bottom appears to mention “Nawaz Sharif”.
The PTI social media has always kept its teams alive through allegations and slander. Lies and propaganda are now the oxygen of these dead teams. They have nothing to show in terms of performance, except propaganda.
Why it matters
Fabricated documents can spread misleading claims when presented as genuine historical records. In this case, the purported report card does not provide reliable evidence about Shehbaz Sharif’s education.
Verdict: FAKE
The purported 1980–81 report card cannot be an authentic school record of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Its claimed academic year would have placed him at approximately 29 years of age in Year 10, while official and biographical records show that he had already completed his education at Government College.
In short, the viral image is a fabricated/manipulated document and should not be treated as evidence of Shehbaz Sharif’s academic record.
