RIYADH, Saudi Arabia: The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen announced that it has destroyed a Houthi ballistic missile launch platform after successfully intercepting a missile fired towards the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
Coalition spokesman Major General Turki Al-Maliki confirmed the operation in a statement posted on X, saying the missile had been intercepted and destroyed before reaching its intended target.
The coalition subsequently targeted and destroyed the launch site used in the attempted attack, according to the statement.
The operation underscored Saudi Arabia’s continued efforts to protect its population and critical infrastructure from aerial threats originating from Yemen.
Following the interception, Saudi Civil Defence announced that a security alert issued in Riyadh over a potential aerial threat had been lifted.

Tuesday’s announcements reflected coordinated defensive measures aimed at protecting civilians and maintaining security in the capital.
