BEIJING: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan from December 12 to 16, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, will pay the visit at the invitation of UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, and Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, the spokesperson said.

It may be recalled that in September, Saudi Arabia and China signed 42 investment agreements worth over $1.74 billion across advanced industries, smart vehicles, and energy.

The agreements, which include medical devices, equipment, and mineral resources, were signed at the Saudi-Chinese Business Forum in Beijing during Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef’s official visit.

Organised by the Federation of Saudi Chambers, the forum brought together around 200 companies, along with representatives from both the public and private sectors of Saudi Arabia and China, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
