BEIJING: Chinese and Pakistani universities have signed an intent to cooperate to facilitate joint research, teaching, and outreach initiatives.
The intent of cooperation was singed between the Key Laboratory of Plant Immunity at Nanjing Agricultural University and the University of Sargodha (UoS). The intent of cooperation was inked by Prof. Dr. Hongwei Zhao from Nanjing Agricultural University and Prof. Dr. Ijaz Asghar Bhatti from the University of Sargodha.
The focus of these projects will revolve around socio-economic aspects and plant protection, particularly in the realms of rice and citrus cultivation.
The agreement encompasses a spectrum of collaborative ventures, including the establishment of agriculture knowledge exchange networks, undertaking research and technology development projects, implementing faculty and student exchange programs, conducting collaborative seminars, workshops, and conferences, and initiating e-learning endeavors.
Significance of China-Pakistan Collaboration
Prof. Dr. Hongwei Zhao emphasized the significance of the collaboration, stating, “Pakistan, being an agricultural country, provides an excellent platform for us to work together in promoting agricultural technology and products.” He expressed confidence that the joint efforts between the two institutions would make substantial contributions to the advancement of agricultural research and technology.
VC UoS Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas lauded the agreement as a noteworthy milestone in the realms of agriculture, research, and outreach programs.
