KARACHI: A case has been filed against the female driver who crushed to death a father and daughter under her SUV and wounded five others near Karsaz area of Karachi.
The case has been filed at Bahadarabad police station in Karachi on the complaint of the brother of the deceased. On Monday in a tragic incident near Karsaz on the service road, a female driving a SUV lost control of the vehicle and ran over a bike killing a father and his daughter and injuring 5 other people.
The vehicle overturned and a large crowd gathered fuming with anger to punish the driver. However, police intervened and controlled the crowd and transferred the errant driver to the Bahadurabad police station in a police vehicle.
Local media cited a local police officials said that woman driver in custody has been identified as Natasha, daughter of an influential industrialist.
The mishap destroyed two motorcycles and a vehicle, leading to the death of the father and his daughter on the bike. The deceased have been identified as Imran Arif and his 23-year-old daughter, Amna. Another man, 55-year-old Abdul Salam, was wounded and shifted to hospital for medical treatment. The police personnel, after completing legal formalities, handed over the dead bodies to the family.
