Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, alleged on Monday that the BJP is “now promoting secessionist groups” in West Bengal and that it is using polarizing politics to “destroy” Kashmir and Manipur.

Banerjee said that the BJP is encouraging certain factions in the northern and southern regions of the state to divide the state for its own political gain while speaking virtually at a panchayat election rally in Dubrajpur in the Birbhum district.

“The BJP is now after West Bengal after destroying Kashmir and Manipur with its polarizing politics. To split the state, they encourage and fund separatist movements in Jangal Mahal (in the south) and North Bengal. We won’t allow the state to be divided and we’ll defeat these forces, she declared. Banerjee asserted that the BJP’s policies were to blame for the unrest that has recently killed more than 100 lives in Manipur. Manipur is a violent place where residents are unable to leave their houses.

Communities in Manipur have been pushed against one another by the BJP government, which has caused violence, she alleged. Banerjee has made the decision after suffering an injury during an emergency helicopter landing a few days ago close to Siliguri.

to virtually deliver speeches at rallies for the impending panchayat elections. The leader of the TMC asserted that the BJP administration has halted payments to the state’s 11.36 lakh MGNREGA beneficiaries. The 100-day work scheme and Awas Yojana funds have been suspended by the BJP-led Centre. The money is ours, which the union government is obligated to restore to us after deducting it as taxes. It does not belong to the BJP or the Center. However, they no longer provide funding for Bengal,” Banerjee added.

Through the provision of at least 100 days of guaranteed wage employment during a fiscal year, the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act of 2005 (MGNREGA) seeks to increase the livelihood security of households in rural areas. Banerjee staged a two-day sit-in protest in March against what she claimed was the Center’s decision to withhold funding from the state for the MGNREGA and other welfare programs.

The CPI(M) and the Congress were also criticized by Banerjee, who said that despite her efforts to establish a broad opposition coalition against the BJP at the federal level, their actions were aiding the saffron party in the state. People need to keep in mind that Baam-Ram-Shyam (Left-BJP-Congress) joined forces against us with financial support from the BJP.

Banerjee questioned “why it is taking so long to prove it” that Anubrata Mondal is guilty of corruption after the TMC Birbhum district president was detained by the CBI last year in connection with the cattle smuggling case.
