Belarus Seeks to Enhance Cooperation with Pakistan in Health, Pharma Sectors

MINSK: The Belarusian company, Holding Belpharmprom has shown interest to cooperate with Pakistan in health and pharmaceutical sectors.

According to a statement on Friday the company has invited Pakistani partners and is interested in exploring the possibility of jointly implementing investment proposals.

In addition, it seeks to build cooperation in localization of Pakistani medicines at the production facilities of companies belonging to the Holding Belpharmprom.

The Belarusian organization is improving the management system for the pharmaceutical industry of the country.

Holding group includes eight subsidiary companies, six pharmaceutical manufacturers, one scientific organization and one producer of medical devices.

About 20 Belarusian companies and institutes of various forms of ownership and subordination, engaged in pharmaceutical and medical activities, cooperate with the Holding on mutually beneficial terms.

About 7,000 highly qualified specialists work in the companies of Holding. The share of companies of Holding in the total volume of exports of Belarusian medicines is more than 80 percent, and the share of Holding in the pharmaceutical production of the Republic of Belarus is more than 60 percent.

Currently, 47 production sites of the companies of Holding have national Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certificates, 35 sites are certified for compliance with the requirements of the Good Manufacturing Practice of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU),  4 sites are certified for compliance with GMP PIC/S standards and 5 sites are in the process of preparatory work for obtaining GMP certificates of the European Union.

At present pharmaceutical companies of Holding have about 800 types of medicines of various pharmacotherapeutic groups in their product portfolios.
