ISLAMABAD: The president and acting rector of the International Islamic University Islamabad, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, on Saturday said that ‘Battle of Truth (Marka-i-Haq) is a pride of Pakistan.
He said that this victory of Pakistan has been inscribed in history as a shining symbol of national resolve, courage, and unity.
During a ceremony, he paid rich tributes to the Pakistan Armed Forces, particularly the Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of the Army Staff, Field Marshal Sayed Asim Munir, all defence institutions, and especially the Pakistan Air Force for their unwavering role in safeguarding national sovereignty.
He underlined that Pakistan’s bonds with brotherly nations are rooted in shared faith, mutual trust, and fraternity, reflecting a collective commitment to Muslim unity, peace, and progress.
Earlier on Friday, Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed led special prayers for the success of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at Faisal Mosque.
According to Dr. Hassan Shehzad, a researcher at the IIUI, the comments of Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed about Pakistan and regional peace are highly meaningful and more valuable as he is an internationally recognised scholar with first-hand experience of global diplomatic developments.
Pakistan has described last year’s military confrontation with India, starting from the April 22 Pahalgam attack to the conclusion of Pakistan’s Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, with a ceasefire on May as Marka-i-Haq, or the “Battle of Truth.”
Pakistan, during the conflict, gave a swift, strong, and decisive response to India. The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) shot down seven Indian aircraft, including Rafale jets, and successfully neutralised an S-400 air-defence system.
Pakistan’s armed forces on Wednesday reaffirmed their resolve to defend the country against any future aggression, warning that any hostile move would be met with a stronger and more precise response as the nation marked the first anniversary of Marka-i-Haq.
In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military said the night of May 6-7 represented a defining moment in Pakistan’s military history, particularly for the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
