Azerbaijan’s FM, Pakistan’s PM Discuss Cooperation on Core Issues

ISLAMABAD: Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on Thursday called on Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif here at the Prime Minister House.

During the meeting Shehbaz Sharif expressed contentment with the positive trajectory of relations between both nations, emphasizing the necessity to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and security.

The premier appreciated the mutual support both countries had consistently provided on core issues, affirming their commitment to continue this support at international forums.

The Prime Minister congratulated Foreign Minister Bayramov on Baku being chosen as the host city for COP29 in November 2024, pledging Pakistan’s close collaboration for a successful event.

Recalling his fruitful visit to Baku in June 2023 and his interactions with President Aliyev, the Prime Minister warmly extended an official invitation to the Azeri President to visit Pakistan later this year.

Foreign Minister Bayramov expressed gratitude for the reception and briefed the Prime Minister on earlier discussions. He conveyed warm greetings from the Azeri leadership and assured a strong desire to strengthen ties with Pakistan.

Foreign Minister Bayramov’s visit to Pakistan was at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister Sen. Muhammad Ishaq Dar.
