RAWALPINDI: Officials has urged the tourists to follow to traffic regulations to prevent traffic jams and road accidents in Murre. The spokesperson from the City Traffic Police (CTP said that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the safety of visitors, particularly during snowfall season.
Rawalpindi City Traffic Officer Taimoor Khan urged tourists to follow traffic rules on Murree’s roads to avert traffic problems and accidents during the winter season. Specialized teams have been established to assist tourists and address any issues they may encounter in Murree, with strict enforcement against parking outside designated areas.
The spokesperson emphasized a complete prohibition on illegal parking on Murree’s roads, especially at entry and exit points. Parking is only permitted in designated areas, and the CTP has issued advisories to inform visitors about these guidelines.
Snowfall
The police have devised a comprehensive plan to facilitate tourists heading to Murree, ensuring a pleasant experience for families and friends seeking recreational activities in the chilly weather.
Senior traffic officers have been deployed to oversee traffic arrangements, and a dedicated traffic control room with a 24/7 helpline (051-9269200) has been established to help and coordinate emergency responses.
Specific points for car parking have been designated, and certain main roads, including Kashmir Point, Mall Road, and Guldana Road, have been temporarily closed for two-way traffic to enhance the flow.
An advisory has been issued urging tourists to use petrol-based vehicles instead of CNG-based ones, which may face difficulties in extreme cold temperatures. Furthermore, families with infants and asthma patients are advised to reconsider traveling to Murree. –APP
