RAWALPINDI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted nine operations across the country, resulting in the seizure of 24 kg of drugs and arrest of 10 individuals, said an ANF Headquarters spokesperson on Wednesday.
During the operations, 2 kg of Ice drug was confiscated from a passenger bound for Bahrain at Islamabad Airport, while another 774 grams of heroin was intercepted from a different Bahrain-bound passenger at Bacha Khan Airport.
Additionally, 700 grams of Ice was seized from a passenger traveling to Qatar from Multan Airport, and 684 grams of hashish from a passenger heading to Sharjah from Islamabad Airport.
Furthermore, 460 grams of weed were found in a parcel sent from the UK at a courier office in Rawalpindi, leading to an arrest. In separate incidents, 10 kg of hashish was discovered from a passenger in Sohrab Goth, Karachi, and 5 kg from an individual apprehended near Chamkani, Peshawar.
Another 4 kg of hashish was recovered from a suspect arrested near Peshawar. In the final operation, 1 kg of opium and 526 grams of hashish were seized from three suspects apprehended in Lahore. The arrested individuals face charges under the Anti-Narcotics Act, with ongoing investigations. —APP
