ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Murtaza Solangi, has assured that all preparations are in place for conducting free, fair, and transparent elections on Thursday.
Speaking at a news conference in Islamabad, he emphasized the caretaker government’s commitment to holding elections on the date specified by the Election Commission of Pakistan, with ample resources provided to ensure fairness.
Solangi highlighted the implementation of foolproof security measures on polling day, with the primary responsibility resting on the police as the first tier. The Civil Armed Forces would assist as the second tier, while the Armed Forces of Pakistan would serve as the Quick Reaction Force in the third tier to ensure a secure environment for voters at polling stations.
Meanwhile, Solangi inaugurated a tree planting campaign at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, emphasizing the national and moral duty of plantation. Stressing the importance of trees for human life and environmental protection, he noted that it was essential not only to plant trees but also to take steps to safeguard and protect them. He launched the plantation drive officially by planting seedlings on the PTV headquarters lawn. –APP
