KABUL: Afghan Taliban has denied the presence of any internal or external armed threats and said the SIGAR’s recent report that denotes IS-K (Daesh), al-Qaeda, and the Resistance Front as threats was “propaganda”.
Afghan Taliban Reject SIGAR Report
In a statement, Afghan Taliban’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid dismissed the report stating that no foreign armed group is presently active in Afghanistan and claimed Daesh has been significantly weakened.
However, SIGAR said in a tweet that Daesh remains a grave threat to the Afghan Taliban-led government in Afghanistan. Zabihullah Mujahid said that ‘Daesh’ has been severely damaged and is on the edge of being ruined,”.
Muhajid said that there are no internal armed threats, and Afghans live in peaceful conditions.
Despite the Taliban’s claims of suppressing Daesh in Afghanistan, the militant group has conducted two attacks in recent days.
