RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: A five-member commentary panel featuring prominent former cricketers and broadcasters has been announced for the three-match T20I series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, beginning today at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Former Pakistan cricketers Aamir Sohail, Salman Butt and Bazid Khan will provide commentary alongside former Pakistan women’s captain Urooj Mumtaz and renowned Sri Lankan commentator Roshan Abeysinghe.

Popular sports presenter Zainab Abbas will host the coverage, bringing together experienced voices from both countries for the international series.
Experienced Voices Join Commentary Team
The panel combines former international players with established cricket broadcasters, offering viewers insights into match strategies, individual performances and key moments throughout the series.

Aamir Sohail and Salman Butt bring experience from their international playing careers, while Bazid Khan and Urooj Mumtaz have established themselves as familiar voices in cricket broadcasting.
Sri Lanka’s Roshan Abeysinghe will add a perspective from the visiting side, completing the five-member team.
Pakistan-Sri Lanka Series Begins Friday
All three fixtures will be played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, with matches scheduled to begin at 6pm Pakistan Standard Time.
The series marks Sri Lanka’s first bilateral T20I visit to Pakistan since 2019, when the visitors completed a 3-0 clean sweep in Lahore.
Pakistan hold an advantage in the teams’ overall T20I record, having won 18 of their 31 encounters, compared with Sri Lanka’s 13 victories.
Following the T20I series, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will join England in an ODI tri-series from October 18 to 31.
Sri Lanka will subsequently play two Tests against Pakistan in Rawalpindi and Lahore during November as part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025–27.
