ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is celebrating 76th Independence Day today with renewed determination to work with the spirit of Pakistan Movement to make the nation a true Islamic welfare state.
Public and private departments will organize special activities and functions, including discussion programmes, seminars, photo exhibitions, poetry, and national songs competitions with the focus on recognizing the contribution of leaders of the Pakistan Movement and sacrifices of the country’s national heroes.
Pakistan Celebrates 76th Independence Day
The aim of such events and activities is to educate the students and new generation about the historical struggle for the creation of Pakistan.
Similarly, overseas Pakistanis living worldwide will celebrate the special Day with equal fervour and passion. Overseas Pakistanis will hold cultural events, flag hoisting ceremonies, and rallies to show their love and loyalty for Pakistan.
It is a day to remember the sacrifices and struggles of forefathers who fought for our independence, a citizen said. It added that it is also a reminder of the responsibility we as a nation have to protect our independence by working towards the prosperity of Pakistan.
Islamabad and cities across the country have already turned into green and white colors with a large number of Jashan-e-Azadi stalls carrying flags, dresses, pin badges, bunting, toys and other decorative accessories to attract children and youngsters.
Special prayers will be offered in mosques at dawn for solidarity, peace, and prosperity of Pakistan. The day will dawn with a 31-gun salute in Islamabad and 21-gun salutes in all provincial capitals.
All the main roads and avenues of Islamabad, like other cities, have been decorated with banners, flags, and buntings to present a festive look.
The day is marked with patriotic fervour, showcasing Pakistan’s rich traditions, culture, and achievements. It is a day to renew pledge to the country’s ideals and work towards making the country a peaceful and prosperous nation.
