BRUSSELS: Kashmiri community in Belgium has announced to observe India’s Independence Day on August 15 as Black Day to reiterate Kashmiris’ ever-lasting hatred against Indian atrocities and forced and unlawful Indian occupation of their motherland for the last 76 years.
According to a message issued to the media here on Saturday, the scheduled Black Day would be observed with an anti-India mass protest demonstration to be staged on August 15 in front of the Indian Embassy in Brussels.
India’s Independence Day as Black Day
Kashmiri people on both sides of the Line of Control and across the globe mostly observe the Indian Independence Day as “Black Day’’ every year on Aug 15, and they repeat the same this very with a more powerful voice to let the world know about forced annexation of Kashmir by India.
The scheduled protest demonstrations have been arranged by Kashmir Council EU with the backing of several political and social organizations.
Meanwhile, in a statement issued by Chairman Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU), Mr Ali Raza Syed said that the purpose of the scheduled protest was to raise their voice against Indian atrocities in IIOJ&K.
India has committed illegal and inhuman activities in Kashmiri, and its state-sponsored terrorism against the innocent people of Occupied Kashmir has increased recently, including arrests and illegal detention of important political leaders and human rights activists, he said, adding that India is committing genocide of Kashmiris on a large scale and it is trying to wipe out the identity of Kashmiris by changing the population ratio in the occupied territory.
Demand to UN
Ali Raza Syed further said that they would continue the peaceful struggle for the liberation of Kashmir from fascist India. He called the international community and the UN for immediate intervention to take notice of the existing situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir.
