BEIJING: China’s National Cultural Heritage Administration has issued a circular to conduct fresh surveys and record the nation’s cultural heritage sites.

The administration announced its plan to properly evaluate China’s immovable cultural heritage over three to four years at the beginning of 2023. According to the administration, the survey would include cultural sites found on land, underground, and underwater since 2012.

It intends to gather data on the sites, including their quantity, geological distribution, state of conservation, and other details.

According to the administration, a national list of China’s fixed cultural heritage will be compiled, and each place will receive a specific level of protection. —Xinhua/APP
