ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday reaffirmed that Pakistan rejects all of the illegal and unilateral actions carried out by India in Indian Illegally-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and pledged to continue offering its unwavering political, diplomatic, and moral support to Kashmiris in their freedom struggle.
The PM, on his Twitter handle, said that they demanded India to reverse its post-August 5 actions. He said, “Today marked the completion of four years since India unilaterally annexed the IIOJK, depriving Kashmiris of their statehood”.
The prime minister wrote, “The last four years have represented the culmination of the worst human rights abuses, including but not limited to demographic changes, issuance of fake domiciles, internet shutdown, complete information blackout, and imprisonment of Kashmiri leadership of all hues and colors.”
He continued that India’s sinister endeavor to change the status of IIOJK, recognized globally, and to undermine the Kashmiris’ fundamental right to self-determination had been at the core of these unlawful and immoral actions.
He further said that history bore witness to brute force never extinguished the fire of freedom and rights. —APP
