Beijing: China and the United Arab Emirates are set to hold their first-ever joint fighter jet exercise in August to deepen bilateral defense ties.
The Chinese Defense Ministry has announced that the “Falcon Shield 2023” exercise will be held in China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
In a statement, the ministry said that the development would deepen cooperation between the two countries’ militaries.
This is the first-ever joint military exercise between China and UAE.
In February this year, China said that it had signed an agreement with UAE to develop L-15 training fighter jets jointly.
Earlier UAE Ministry of Defense said it plans to buy 12 L-15s and would enhance this number to 36. The L-15 is fourth-generation supersonic fighter also known as the JL-10.
