Pakistani Rupee Sheds 90 Paisa Against US Dollar

ISLAMABAD: After having an upward trend last week, the Pakistani Rupee continued its downward flow for the second consecutive day in the week with a depreciation of 90 paisa against the US Dollar in the interbank trading on Tuesday as it closed at Rs 287.54 compared to 286.64. last day.

Meanwhile, rates of the greenback in the open market were also influenced as the buying and selling rates of dollars in the open market were recorded in the range of Rs 288 and Rs 291, as reported by the Forex Association of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, as the greenback in the US market is concerned, the AFP reported that the U.S. dollar rose in late trading on Monday. The index, measuring the greenback against six major peers, added 0.22 percent to 101.8504 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT), it added.

Pakistani Rupee Against Other Currencies

Unlike the greenback, the price of the Euro went down by 38 paisa to settle at Rs 315.77 compared to Rs 316.15 the last day.

However, the Japanese Yen recorded no change and closed at Rs 2.01, while the British Pound went down by Rs 0.21 and was traded at Rs 368.22 against Rs 368.43 on the previous day.

The Emirates Dirham went up by 25 paisa to close at Rs 78.28 while the exchange rate of the Saudi Riyal increased by 22 paisa to settle at Rs 76.63.
