Islamabad: High Commissioner of Australia in Pakistan expressed deep interest in the cultural sites of Pakistan adding there is an immense potential to promote global tourism in the country.
Neil Hawkins made the remarks during a meeting with the Minister of State and Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Taskforce on Gandhara Tourism Dr Ramesh Kumar.
He strongly believed that Pakistan’s heritage sites can bring Pakistan and the international community close to each other.

Dr Ramesh Vankwani, during the meeting, said Pakistani archaeological and old Buddhist sites hold immense historical, cultural, and religious importance in the world.
He added Gandhara archeological sites are evidence of Pakistan’s amazing Gandhara heritage and have great potential for tourism.
The High Commissioner also praised the efforts of the Pakistani minister for holding the International Gandhara Symposium attended by monks and international delegates.
During the meeting matters of mutual interest also came under discussion.
