RIYADH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan held a phone talk with the Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Arab media reported on Sunday.
KSA FM Urges Calm During Dall with Sudanese Army Chief
In a statement, the Saudi Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the two sides discussed developments in Sudan during the talks, and Saudi Foreign Minister stressed the significance of the commitment of all Sudanese parties in order to resume humanitarian efforts.
The KSA top diplomat also asked the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) to protect the civilian population and relief workers and also make sure the arrival of basic aid via safe humanitarian corridors.

Saudi Foreign Minister also renewed Riyadh’s call for calm, giving top priority to Sudan’s interest, stopping all types of military escalation, and also resorting to a political settlement that guarantees the return of stability and security to Sudan and its people, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
Fighting between the army and RSF broke out on April 15 as both sides vied for power amid a planned transition to civilian government.
As many as 580 people have been killed in Khartoum, and over 3 million become homeless, throwing the African nation into one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
