ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Ethiopia have explored various avenues to boost cooperation in the aviation sector for further strengthening bilateral relations.
In this regard, different proposals were discussed during a meeting between Ethiopia’s ambassador to Pakistan, Jemal Beker Abdula, and Federal Minister for Aviation and Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafique.
They expressed their resolve to bring the two countries closer by expanding cooperation in the aviation field which would eventually improve business-to-business and people-to-people contacts between the two nations and Africa at large.
Collaboration between Pakistan International Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines also came under discussion during the meeting.
Ambassador Beker thanked Saad Rafique and his team for their important role in starting of the Ethiopian Airlines operations in Karachi, which he said would further consolidate commerce and trade linkages between the two nations.
Ethiopian Embassy in Pakistan Appreciated
The minister appreciated the Ethiopian embassy in Pakistan for its proactive role in consolidating the bilateral ties between the two nations.
Moreover, he said Ethiopia was the gateway to Africa and headquarters of the African Union (AU) in which Ethiopian Airlines could help Pakistan to connect with African nations.
