KARACHI: Malala Yousafzai, the world’s youngest Nobel laureate and a strong vocal for children’s education, has condemned a terror attack on a school van in her hometown Swat.
In a tweet on Thursday, she said, “I add my voice to thousands of people protesting for peace in Swat. Monday’s attack on a school bus full of children is a frightening reminder that our people must not be forced back into lives of fear and terrorism”.
Protests erupted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Swat after a gunman opened fire on a school van in Gully Bagh area of Mingora on Monday. The unfortunate driver of the van succumbed to his wounds shortly afterwards while a child was critically injured in the attack.
Malala is currently visiting Pakistan to help keep international attention on the flood-hit country and raise funds for the affected people.
