RIYADH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the United States (US) have asked the warring parties in crisis-hit Sudan to get their acts together following fighting resumed upon the expiration of a 24-hour truce, Arab News reported on Sunday.
Riyadh, Washington Regret Return to Violence in Sudan
In a joint statement, Saudi Arabia and the US said the resumption of violence was regrettable considering that the army and RSF managed to control their fighters during the cease-fire in Sudan.
The statement stated, “Riyadh and Washington note that during the 24-hour truce that concluded on June 10th, the armed forces and RSF showed effective command and control over their troops, resulting in decline fighting across Sudan”. The joint statement further said, “Facilitators have been deeply disappointed by the immediate resumption of immediate intense violence, which we strongly condemn”.
