RIYADH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has welcomed the deal reached by the Libyan 6+6 Joint Committee on presidential and parliamentary election laws, Arab media reported on Saturday.
Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs lauded Morocco’s efforts in facilitating talks between rival Libyan groups and reaching a deal to achieve a political solution in the African country.

“Riyadh hopes Libyan parties would formally ink the election laws as a significant measure to end the crisis and improve stability in the African country,” the foreign ministry said.
Saudi Arabia’s Support for Libya
The ministry reiterated Saudi Arabia’s support for efforts to strengthen Libya’s status as an influential country in the Arab region and around the world and obtain the aspiration of its citizens for prosperity and stability.
The committee comprises of MPs from the House of Representatives and representatives of the High Council of State, held dialogue in Morocco to draft the law that would finally serve as the legal framework for conducting polls in Libya.
Earlier, On June 7, the committee unanimously voted in favor of the legislation during meetings in Morocco.
