CAIRO: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has lauded the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) for its continued support for women’s empowerment that enables the world body to conduct its work in all sectors to the fullest, Arab media reported on Thursday.
OIC Lauds Riyadh’s Continuous Support to Empowering Women
This was stated by Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian and Cultural Affairs, on behalf of the chief of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hissein Brahim Taha in Cairo.
According to Arab news, he lauded the offer made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to host a global conference on women’s rights in Islam, in collaboration with the OIC, with the aim of clarifying the responsibilities and rights guaranteed to them, particularly the right to education and work, as per the teachings of Islam.
Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian and Cultural Affairs Bakheet called for defending women’s rights in all sectors including education and employing their abilities in social and practical life in member nations, including trade, economy, political and economic decision-making.
He Bakheet that the OIC harnesses all its abilities to support the WDO to achieve its desired targets, appreciating the efforts of the team for the targets they set to empower women in the Arab and Islamic world.
