Two Companies Fined for Providing Low-Quality Food to Pakistani Pilgrims in Makkah

MAKKAH MUKARMA: Two catering companies responsible have been fined 4,000 Riyals for failing to provide quality food to Pakistani pilgrims in Makkah.

Farooq Haider, chief food officer, said that utmost food quality standards had been upheld to prioritize the health and well-being of the pilgrims in the hajj season.

He said that currently a total of 13 catering companies had been tasked to provide three time meal to Pakistani Hajj pilgrims residing in nine sectors in Makkah.

“In order to ensure the stringent quality of food, each kitchen is staffed with dedicated workers called “Moavineen.” These steps are in place to uphold utmost standards of food quality,” he said.

Hajj pilgrims’ accommodations

Meanwhile, Muhammad Hashim, overseeing sectors eighth and ninth, provided details about the hajj pilgrims’ accommodations in Batha Quraish, Makkah.

There are 13 newly constructed buildings, designed to host 6,317 pilgrims, offering better convenience as they are located just three kilometres away from the Haram Sharif. Each of these structures is equipped with 4 lifts, ensuring smooth mobility.
