Pak Rupee sheds 21 paisas against US Dollar in Interbank

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani rupee fell by 24 paisas against the US dollar (USD) in interbank trading on Thursday, trading at Rs 285.61 vs Rs 285.40 the previous day. However in open market story is quite different as the market have reports of shortage of dollars.

Buying and selling of US Dollars

According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the open market buying and selling rates for US dollars were Rs 292 and Rs 296, respectively. Some reports say it even crossed the 300 benchmark.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the price of the Euro fell by 31 paisas to close at Rs 308.89, compared to Rs 309.20 the previous day.

The Japanese Yen dropped by one paisa and closed at Rs 2.07, while the British Pound dropped by 71 paisas to close at Rs 355.56 compared to its previous day’s closing of Rs 354.85.

The exchange rate of the Emirates Dirham and the Saudi Riyal increased by 06 paisas and 05 paisas, respectively, to close at Rs. 77.78 and Rs.76.15.
