XIAN: China’s Sinopec and Kazakhstan’s state-owned oil and gas firm KazMunayGaz have reportedly reached an agreement on major parameters for a prospective investment in a polyethylene facility in Kazakhstan’s western Atyrau area.
Xi Jinping, the president of China, met with Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the president of Kazakhstan, on Wednesday at the China-Central Asia Summit in Xian, where the agreement was inked.
The Sinopec announcement stated that a final decision on the proposed investment would be taken in 2024.
