ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief and former prime minister Imran Khan on Friday expressed his apprehension that he may be arrested once again in another case against him.
During an informal talk with media persons in Islamabad High Court (IHC), he said: “There is a fear that I will be arrested again as soon as I leave the high court.
Prior to his court appearance in the hearing of the Al-Qadir Trust case, he said that “if I am arrested again, the public reaction would be severe like what happened earlier and he doesn’t want that.
Khan said, “I was abducted by the paramilitary forces and handed over the arrest warrant in the NAB custody. Today, it seems that marshal law has been imposed in the country.”
He said that yesterday during his appearance at the Supreme Court, he learned about the deaths of 40 people and expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives.
He said that despite the permission by Supreme Court to talk to his wife Bushra Bibi, he was still unable to talk to her.
Imran Khan said that he would not go out of the country under any circumstances. “I want the supremacy of the constitution and the rule of law in the country. Around 5,000 of my workers have been arrested, and 40 people have lost their lives; they are our people.”
He further said that he was beaten on the head and abducted from the premises of the High Court like a terrorist.
He said, “How could I stop what happened? I was in jail. How am I responsible? I had already said that there would be a reaction.”
