“Love Again”, the latest Hollywood film by Priyanka Chopra, starring Celine Dion and Sam Heughan, hardly made an impression at the US box office in its opening weekend.
With just $2.38 million in its first three days, the love drama barely broke even when it opened in theatres across the United States.
The film faces the toughest competition from “Evil Dead Rise”, “Are You There God?”, “It’s Me”, “Margaret”, and Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Guardians of the “Galaxy Vol 3”.
Love Again revolves around a devastated woman named Mira Ray (Chopra), who loses her fiancé in a road accident. Without realising the contact number of her late fiancé, she started sending messages to her fiancé on the same number to cope with her loss.
The number was reassigned to Rob (Heughan), who tries to meet Mira in person with the aid of Dion, who portrays herself in the film because he finds her texts highly emotional. The musician Nick Jonas, Chopra’s husband, makes a surprise appearance in the movie.
The movie has a 19% rotten rating on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes and a ‘B’ on CinemaScore. However, the movie’s audience rating is 93% from more than 100 viewers. Variety disclosed the movie’s $9 million budget, so there’s a chance that expenses will be recouped.
After Keanu Reeves’ sci-fi action film, The Matrix Resurrections in 2021, Priyanka Chopra will have her first theatrical release with Love Again. With Baywatch, the actor made her Hollywood debut in 2017. She also appears in Citadel, a spy thriller series from the Russo brothers. The show also received negative reviews and failed to impress the viewers.
