KARACHI: Karachi police on Tuesday submitted its initial investigation report of the attack on a dental clinic run by a Chinese citizen in Karachi’s Saddar area, in the Anti-Terrorism Court.
In its report, the police claimed that the attack was an attempt to cause damage to Pak-China bilateral relations. “There were two attackers involved, one of them entered the clinic pretending to be a patient while the other waited outside”, the report submitted by the police stated.
Police informed the court that an FIR (First Investigation Report) has been registered against unidentified attackers.
Last week, a Canadian-origin Pakistani was killed and two others were injured after an attacker opened fire inside Hu Dental Clinic, run by Chinese citizens in a busy street of Saddar market, Karachi.
Deceased Ronald Raymond Chou was cashier at the clinic. Injured were identified as the owner of the clinic, Richard, and his wife, Phen Tayang.
A Sindhi separatist organization Sindhudesh People’s Army (SPA) has claimed responsibility for the attack.
