BEIJING: “Born to Fly” continued to top the domestic daily box office chart on Sunday, China Movie Data Information Network’s data showed Monday.
A “Top Gun”-style production, the film tells the story of the air force test pilots. It tells how elite pilots rubbed shoulders with death during the test flights of cutting-edge fighter planes to help collect data under difficult conditions.
The film generated a revenue of around 104.19 million yuan (about $15.05 million) on the second day of China’s May Day holidays, which spans from 29 April 29 to 3 May this year.
Other movies on box office
“Godspeed,” a domestic road comedy movie, came in second with a daily earning of nearly 103.15 million yuan.
It was followed by the romance movie “All These Years,” which earned 41.12 million yuan on Sunday
