RIYADH: Saudi Officials said that the country attended the inaugural session of the United Nations Global Geospatial Knowledge and Innovation Centre’s International Advisory Committee in Deqing, China.

The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information said that the session held from April 20 to 22 in China. Dr. Mohammed Bin Yahya Al Sayel head of the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information represented the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in the meeting. Saudi Arabia shared and presented its experience with the participants of the meeting. Saudi Arabia emphasized the significance of the 9 strategic pathways in the IGIF, which cover institutions, governance, policy, legal, financial, data, standards, partnerships, innovation, education, capacity, communication and engagement, guidance for addressing current challenges in the survey as well as geospatial information sector.
