ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan has fixed April 18 for hearing the contempt case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders including chairman Imran Khan, Asad Umar and Fawad Chaudhry.
The electoral body issued a cause list today wherein the case against the PTI leaders for using inappropriate words has been fixed for hearing on April 18 (Tuesday). A four-member ECP bench will resume the contempt proceedings against the PTI leaders.
Former premier Imran could not attend the last hearing due to the security concerns. The ECP then, had given a final opportunity to the PTI stalwarts on March 29 to appear in the contempt case. However, due to their not appearing in the court, a three-member ECP bench led by Sindh member Nisar Durrani adjourned the hearing until April 18.
