RIYADH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands said that they would further enhance cooperation in diverse fields, Arab media reported on Thursday. The two sides expressed the resolve during the meeting of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) foreign minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Dutch foreign minister Wopke Hoekstra. They also discussed bilateral relations and matters of mutual interests during the meeting.

During the meeting, they also discussed areas of cooperation and means to further enhance to serve the common interest of the sides. The two top diplomats also discussed prevailing regional and global developments, including war in Ukraine and global efforts aimed at finding a political settlement to achieve security and peace.
The Dutch and Saudi foreign ministers had met several times over the years, with the most recent meeting on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in Germany.
The KSA and the Netherlands are two of the nations in support of UN efforts to resolve the environmental and humanitarian issues in the Red Sea. Saudi Arabia has also donated 10 million dollars in funds needed for the 1st phase of the rescue operation, while the Netherlands has donated 7 million dollars.
